- We are looking for a Web Designer to join our client, a multi million pound E-Commerce organisation, based in Borehamwood.
This will be a temporary role for three months to start but may be extended for a longer term.
As Web Designer you will be responsible for creating engaging design across a wide spectrum of digital and print mediums.
This role is within an established Digital Design team, consisting of three other Web and CRM designers, working alongside the wider Marketing department to deliver core trading assets and deliverables.
We are looking for a talented Web Designer with established skills in both digital design and front-end development. You must have proven experience within e-commerce and will also need a strong knowledge of responsive HTML & CSS , as well as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Experience with print or offline design would also be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities include:
Working alongside the Design team to help in the production of day-to-day design tasks in line with briefs provided by the wider marketing team, including:
Execution of all seasonal campaign creative - logos, mastheads and general 'look and feel', and monitor their application across multiple channels
Creation of PSD assets / templates for web
Regular website updates, through the creation and deployment of HTML / CSS web pages for campaign, working alongside Web Trading team to implement onsite
Designing and building engaging email campaigns
Working alongside the wider eCommerce department, understand broader commercial goals of the team and website, and implement changes to maximise site conversion and commercial performance
Production of digital marketing assets for off-site marketing campaigns such as Paid Display or Social
CRM work will be ad hoc, but supporting CRM design or coding may be required at times
Print work will be ad hoc, but may include seasonal flyers, brochures and leaflets
As a Web Designer we'll count on you to bring creativity and innovation to every job you work on. Working alongside our website and Marketing team, you will be responsible for creating engaging design across a wide spectrum of digital and print mediums.
A solid understanding and experience of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery. Experience of responsive coding essential, with a focus on Bootstrap
Experience of using browser developer tools for manipulating DOM elements
Must have experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Strong skills in CMS design & code, Bootstrap responsive languages
Working to strict deadlines as part of a fast-moving ecommerce design team, while having the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
High attention to detail, with demonstrable written, verbal communication and presentation skills to all levels of seniority and disciplines within the organisation with an ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
Quick learner with ability to think pro-actively and build solid working relationships with wider members of the business
An online portfolio of previous work
Desirable Skills
Previous experience overseeing/mentoring junior designers advantageous
Experience of working alongside Dev and IT teams
Experience of using Endeca
Print experience an advantage but not essential
