- Our client, a global manufacturer based near High Wycombe, is looking for a mechanical production support engineer.
You will be responsible for organizing all existing drawings into a structure that will be used by the business. In addition to this there will be the need to create an NPI process that is not only flexible but gives sufficient overview to ensure that new products are right first time, having all drawings, supply chain and procedures set up prior to being manufactured.
There will be the need to create new drawings when new product ranges are created. As well as providing production engineering support.
Create file structure for all drawings (new and old) ensuring that they are easy to find at all levels of the business
Create standardized method of naming parts and drawings
Create a structure for NPI to create a culture of right first time
Ensure that all drawings are printed into a format that makes them easy to use for all staff
Create an NPI process which gives structure but allows for flexibility
Produce all new drawings for both sub-assemblies and final assemblies
Assist production with engineering support to help build efficiencies through jigs, fixtures, redesigning production methods and processes.
Has worked in a fast-pace engineering role before
Excellent communication skills
Has extensive knowledge of the Autocad drawing package
Previous experience designing and creating drawing file structures
Extensive knowledge and experience of manufacturing processes
Focused organized methodical approach
Degree qualified in engineering discipline
Has experience of creating NPI process in a SME.
Has experience in production engineering role.
A background in electronics would be beneficial
