- Our client, a leading institution with a focus upon climate change, is recruiting for a Social Media Executive, based near Oxford.
You will be responsible for:
* developing and maintain websites, blogs, electronic newsletters, audience surveys, event registration pages, social media campaigns and other digitally produced material
* leading on the writing and posting of audience-appropriate content on social channels
* helping with planning and providing technical support for the delivery of online training programmes, live streamed webinars and events
* analysing and reporting back on the growth of the organisation's digital and social channels, including social media platforms, campaigns and events the organisation runs in order to inform best practice
* editing digital images
* updating distribution lists
* staying abreast of digital and online trends to make the most of emerging technologies and communications channels
* supporting the Education and Engagement team in delivering training programmes and events (for example, early career development training, summer internship scheme, attraction events for undergraduate students and the annual conference)
* developing story telling content that reflects the success and impact of initiatives
Skills:
* High proficiency in Wordpress (or other Content Management Systems), Mailchimp (or other e-marketing tools), Zoom, MS Office Suite, and other platforms such as Survey Monkey and Eventbrite
* Ability to quickly become proficient in a wide variety of online tools with minimal coaching
* A proven track record of generating and delivering dynamic and creative social media content (both written and visual)
* Confidence and professionalism to represent the organisation through social media and elsewhere
Creative writing and storytelling skills and demonstrable experience of writing engaging and informative content for a variety of audiences and channels
* A scientific background and degree qualification or equivalent, or experience with science communication would be advantageous
* Ability to work remotely, independently under own initiative as well as collaboratively
* Good analytical skills and confidence at using Excel spreadsheets
