- ITSS Recruitment are working in partnership with The Chiltern Open Air Museum to help recruit an Assistant Finance Manager, on a part-time basis (16 hours per week).
Chiltern Open Air Museum is an award-winning independent outdoor museum and charity in the Chalfonts, Buckinghamshire that welcomes around 60,000 visitors a year. The Museum has a collection of 37 rescued historic buildings that were either the homes or workplaces of ordinary people. The Museum is set in 45 acres of beautiful Chilterns landscape and has a working historic farm, livestock, traditional cottage gardens, orchards and woodland.
Hours: 16 hours initially - with scope for additional hours/responsibility from 2022
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Salary: £9.60 - £12.25 per hour, depending on experience
Holiday entitlement: 28 days including Bank Holidays (pro-rata)
The role
* Check and input supplier invoices, employee expense & pockit card claims
* Prepare lists twice monthly of payments due
* Match payments made to the above, and email remittances to suppliers/employees
* Check supplier statements and resolve any queries
* File copies of all invoices electronically after payment has been made
* Enter weekly cash and card takings onto accounts system
* Generate sales invoices for weddings and school visits, monitor receipts, create credit notes and liaise with other finance assistant to repay deposits when required
* Monthly bank reconciliations and preparation of quarterly VAT
* Check on intercompany transactions to ensure these balance at end of each month
* Run and email out monthly management reports as requested
* Input of annual budget figures and assistance with the budgeting process
* Any other tasks the Finance Manager and/or Treasurer request
Essential skills/experience
* Experience using Quickbooks Online or similar book-keeping software
* Numeracy, including experience of quarterly VAT reporting
* Accounts processing/Bookkeeping experience
* Attention to detail and ability to quickly learn new computer systems
* Familiarity with any of: Digitickets, Cinolla, KCPOS, 12Pay, Pockit, CAF online banking and Outlook Express, would be useful. Familiarity with charity accounts would also be an advantage.
* Experience of working with volunteers would also be an advantage.
Some hours can be worked from home.
