- Our client, a house-hold name, is a leading e-commerce business with turn over in excess of £500m, is recruiting for a Head of e-Commerce, to join their team in Borehamwood (Thameslink). 60% Remote working is available.
The Head of eCommerce is a pivotal senior member of the UK team, attending weekly trade meetings and being the key contact for the leadership team on day-to-day trading.
The Head of eCommerce lives and breathes our B2C trade plan, acting as the linchpin for all of marketing on daily trading concerns. This role has responsibility for balancing overall B2C sales targets, discount and marketing spend to deliver profitable sales growth for both brands. You will liaise with channel managers to ensure activity is planned in and executed as well as taking direct line management responsibility for the web trading team (whose responsibilities include merchandising the website to ensure category and product performance).
You will sit within the Marketing & Digital department (currently a team of 55), reporting into the Trade and Online Marketing Director.
Key Responsibilities include:
Ownership of the B2C trade plan for both brands with responsibility for the overall B2C sales, discount and marketing spend lines
Co-ordination across the wider marketing team (predominantly CRM and Affiliates) to ensure channel activity is aligned to the trade plan and delivered to budget
Management of month-end forecasting based on planned activity and in-month refinement of activity to deliver budgets
Updating and reporting on performance to the Senior Leadership Team
Ownership of the Amazon P&L, ensuring that day-to-day and promotional sales are delivering to budget
Working closely with our Head of Brand to deliver a cohesive omnichannel experience
A key stakeholder in our product roadmap for customer improvements
Support Head of Product Marketing & Buying Director to develop the new product sourcing strategy, and deliver seasonal offers and new product ranges
Your Direct Reports will be responsible for:
Achieving category sales and margin targets, through a focus on improving individual product performance, optimising and enhancing the product range, and reporting on the impact of any actions
Working alongside channel managers (PPC, Affiliate, SEO, CRM) to analyse trends for key products, and to help optimise/convert traffic coming to products and to plan activity to support product sales through all channels
Executing on-and-off site of key campaigns, messaging, and product selection, alongside Creative & Brand teams
BAU website optimisation, reviewing landing page performance, customer journey reviews and analysis, and working alongside the Product team to enhance website functionality
Required Skills:
Commercial eCommerce trading experience - minimum 5+ years
Previous experience of managing a commercial trading calendar and coordinating activity and promotions to achieve commercial targets within budgeted spend constraints
Demonstrable experience working for a B2C transactional online business, which has a product portfolio greater than 3,000 lines
Exceptional analytical capabilities, including experience of the following web analytics tools - Adobe Analytics (Site Catalyst/Omniture), Google Analytics, Content Square - aswell as internal Datawarehouse tools
High attention to detail, and capable of strong written and verbal communication skills, suitable for all levels of stakeholder
