ITSS Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a business within the Education sector who are looking to hire a Head of Finance. You will be a key and proactive member of the Leadership Team, and have responsibility for leading the finance team in this wide-ranging and fast paced role.
This role will provide a comprehensive, high quality and professional financial management, accounting and control service to the business (£40m turnover). Acting as the technical accounting lead and a key adviser to budget holders on financial issues, you will play a significant role in ensuring effective financial stewardship and seeking opportunities to improve systems and processes to enhance services provided to stakeholders.
The Head of Finance is required to be proactive in managing the finances to support the business to achieve its strategic objectives, whilst also assisting the Chief Financial Officer in the strategic financial and risk management, and to lead business wide initiatives and projects as required.
You will be CCAB (ICAEW / ACCA / CIPFA) or CIMA qualified, with significant and recent experience of leading a finance team, ideally in the education, public or third sector. However, relevant experience from all sectors, along with an appreciation of the challenges faced in the Education sector, are also welcomed.
You will have a strong background in the broad spectrum of finance, including both financial and management accounting, as well as experience of producing year-end financial statements and working papers.
You will have an outstanding track record in system and process enhancement, outstanding communication and organisational skills, and be strongly committed to working with the business's values and ethos. You must demonstrate the ability to lead a comprehensive financial management and accounting service and team, and advise on financial matters affecting the business. You will have considerable drive, and be positive about change and innovation.
