Location: High Wycombe
Salary: £26-32k
We are looking for a Finance Assistant who will support our finance department by managing daily accounting and administrative tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company's finances. The ideal candidate will have some previous bookkeeping or finance related experience and be able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day tasks that are essential to preparing and maintaining timely and accurate financial processes.
Bookkeeping:
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and balance sheets (we currently use Kashflow)
* Process all invoices into the purchase ledger and ensure appropriate authorisation
* Prepare and execute weekly payment runs
* Reconcile all company bank accounts and resolve discrepancies
* Manage external vendor interactions
Financial Transactions:
* Reconcile financial differences
* Set up bank payments such as monthly salaries, HMRC (PAYE), and insurers
Reporting:
* Support the preparation of annual accounts
* Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management review
Compliance and Confidentiality:
* Ensure adherence to financial policies and legal regulations
* Maintain confidentiality of financial information and sensitive data
Person Specification;
o Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar financial role
o This role would be ideal for someone who is currently studying AAT (Association of Account Technicians)
o Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
o Familiarity with financial regulations and standards
o Understanding of company accountancy practices
o Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial software (currently
using Kashflow)
o Analytical skills
o Numerical competency o Adaptability
o Personable
