- Sales Executive - Cardiff - Hybrid based - Software Development company - £30,000 - £40,000 + Excellent commission structure.
You will need to have experience of working in software or digital sales and understand the sales process for a technical implementation.
The business is an established and award winning supplier of digital business solutions to the public and private sectors. They focus on E-Commerce and Facility Management solutions with an impressive selection of clients.
Role Summary
The Sales Executive will spend most of their time generating leads and talking to prospective new customers explaining the benefits of the products.
The role is primarily to generate business opportunities to develop sales from new departments in existing accounts and selling to new accounts.
IT Sales is highly skilled and this role requires an individual capable of understanding the technical features and seeing how these translate into real commercial benefits.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation and Management. To find and progress new names and leads and to follow up on those leads through to a successful sale.
2. To also follow up on leads generated by other channels such as marketing campaigns, events and inbound enquires to qualify prospects and secure meetings through to closing sales.
2. Research, identify and qualify new prospects making appointments to meet potential clients.
3. Develop expertise in demonstrating, presenting and selling all software products within the suite.
4.Qualify customer decision-makers and ensure necessary ones are involved in the demonstrations and meetings.
5.Prepare customer proposals, with assistance from technical team where necessary.
6.Present and sell proposals to prospective customers.
7.Prepare responses to tender documents in a comprehensive, accurate and timely manner.
8.Close sales.
Essential Job Profile
Must be a self -starter and able to generate leads in order to fulfil their own sales objectives. Will need to be a good communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts in a simple manner. Must have a strong personality, capable of directing the conversation with clients who are older and more senior than him/herself.
Will also need to be responsive and quick to follow up on opportunities received from other sources of leads within the marketing team and to able to drive these leads through to a completed sale.
Success Factors including Qualifications and Previous Experience
3 years experience of selling technical solutions
Able to manage complex sales with several discussion partners within the target organisation and identify and manage all of the decision making unit (MDU) within the client organisation
To understand the complexities of large organisations like councils regarding business case generation, tendering and procurement
Outgoing, confident and communicative with a positive attitude.
Previous experience of similar software / solution selling role with high value sales with potential orders up to - £150K.
Committed to career in IT sales.
Strong interest in IT and in the application of computers to solve business problems.
Previous experience of working with local government would be desirable.
You will be based in the Cardiff office at least 3 days per week so you will need to be based within commuting distance.
