We are looking for a highly motivated Engineering Director to join one of the country's leading HVAC, Engine Cooling Systems, Fans, Air Filtration Systems Manufacturers in the UK, established for over 100 years.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and hardworking Engineering Director to lead the testing and development of the company's primary products, from concept through to launch.
The purpose of this role is to lead the technical direction of projects while mentoring team members and effectively collaborating with designers and customers to provide guidance on best practice.
Engineering Director experience and responsibilities:
-Engage with customers and teams to ensure quality outcomes, offering guidance and best-practice advice.
-A strong design and testing background in HVAC.
-Technical expertise in refrigeration systems, including evaporators, condensers, and compressors. Skilled in customer communication, design analysis, and hands-on system development, commissioning, and testing.
-Expertise in electrical systems and electronics-PCBs, CAN bus, and system programming-for engineered system support.
-Experience with low- and high-voltage applications in electric and hybrid vehicle systems preferred.
-Manage customer engagement from concept to commissioning, overseeing design, testing, and support while ensuring effective project reviews and team feedback.
-A strong backgound in commissioning systems, product testing and sound engineering practices on designs for vehicle applications
-Strong knowledge of commercial, off-highway, and military vehicle systems, particularly in HVAC, engine cooling, fan, and CBRN air filtration applications.
Qualifications
-The candidate is likely to have an engineering degree and must have relevant experience and background in a similar role.
-Strong understanding of airflow and heat transfer principles.
-A strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems
-Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively., and work on own initiative
-Strong communication skills to articulate ideas clearly within a collaborative environment, and working closely with customers
-Experience in managing an engineering team or department in an engineering company.
